Went to a Friday sermon today. In Islam, Muslims meet in congregation on Fridays. Coincidentally, today was 9/11. And so, today's sermon was about it. I really wish that the Islamophobes could have heard that sermon. I genuinely believe that it would have changed their minds about Islam and Muslims. The Imam (Muslim Pastor) spoke about how Muslims are as American as Apple pie. Muslims, as a community, are one of the largest contributors, per capita, to the taxes that fund our nation. At the same time, he called on Muslims to contribute more to America. To have the backs and to support every American. He called on Muslims to not isolate themselves into their own bubble and to make a positive impact in their communities. This is the reality of what Muslims preach in their mosques. Not the hatred and slop that Islamophobes claim they do.
